Infrastructure risk factors

Our modern society is entirely dependent on a network in which water and electricity supplies, sewage, ICT and transport infrastructures function as intended. In order to understand how threats and hazards can result in damage and outages, it is essential to carry out risk and vulnerability analyses. However, such analyses can be quite complex because the various infrastructures are closely linked together.

The book “Risk and Interdependencies in Critical Infrastructures” describes analytical methodologies, adapts analytical approaches to each of the infrastructures, and reinforces our understanding of how threats and hazards can affect the entire linked infrastructure system. The book also provides good tools for the identification of hazards that threaten the infrastructures, and focuses on how these threats can be transferred to the entire system and affect other infrastructures.

This makes the book is essential reading for public authorities and other infrastructure owners, because it can help to improve their aware-ness of risk factors and vulnerability linked to critical infrastructures.
